'PLAYGROUND MENTALITY', 2023
An animation project based around aspects of daily life that influence present experience and sense of identity within physical space.
Found objects, textures, photography and illustration are combined to create a spatial narrative that moves the viewer through various environments, perceiving ‘reality’ veiled by the countless intricacies and instances of memory and the subconscious.
This veil becomes a ‘mental playground’ of sorts, an abstract index of imagery.
Memory and past live on through the present.

'OPTIMA', 2022
An experimental animation piece driven by the medium of scanography. Reflective surfaces, illustration, old newspaper pages and trinket objects are used to explore light and physical space through the use of a flatbed scanner.
These objects are reinterpreted through their refracted components to reveal aesthetic qualities that are absent to the human eye.
Individual scans are stitched together in frame animations, attempting to make sense of - and give life to - the common unpredictability of this process of image-making.
A collaboration between human and computed input.
EXHIBITED AT:Tranas at the Fringe, Arts Festival, Sweden, 2022 and Inspire Film Festival, Nottingham, UK, 2023
music: August by Tom la Haine
