A project stemming from ideas of ‘parkour architecture’ and involving the concept of ‘open function’ in playground design, primarily influenced by the works of Aldo van Eyck and Pierre Székely. In the sculpture, the repetitive shapes and irregular placements of elements in Brutalist and Structuralist architecture are broken down and reappropriated in the context of a speculative, interactive installation. The mural work, in an abandoned setting, attempts to bring this concept of open function and creativity to spaces that have been forgotten; spaces that could offer opportunity for inclusive public space.
